Batya snuck out the side door despite the fact that Eamon and Talib seemed to be keeping a watchful eye on her. She had wondered where Derry had disappeared to. She walked into the darkness, feeling the chill against her bare skin, but also a twinge of trepidation. She was not a fearful or timid wolf in the least. However, it seemed that the events of the other evening were getting the better of her. It was almost as if she felt the evil presence, yet was guarded by a thin wall of protection. She wondered how she could feel chilled when wolves never were cold, and were always warm. Was it another indicator of how more human she had become and disconnected to her wolf? As hot as she would be, even in winter, she still wore the winter coat, not wanting to draw attention to her and to easily fit in.

As she thought about the events leading up to being back home, she identified her fears. What did this thing want with her? With her family? Could the children be in danger and could she somehow help to identify it?

The sound of branches breaking caught her attention and the she inhaled and knew that Talib and Eamon were coming.

She didn’t know why, but she walked faster, feeling her wolf’s urge to shift, which it hadn’t been able to do in so long. But something was holding her back from shifting. Something was in the way, almost blocking her wolf from its freedom.

“Sneaking away will cost you, mate,” Eamon stated from behind her. She swung around toward him, his eyes slightly glowing, a smirk in his expression. Her pussy clenched with desire, and he sniffed the air.

“I wasn’t sneaking around and what do you mean, cost me?” she asked with attitude.
